Consumer-Scale Subscription Platform
The Challenge
Pret A Manger needed to scale their Coffee Subscription management platform for a mass consumer audience. The existing system handled core subscriptions but lacked features like gifting that customers expected. Working through PA Consulting, the engineering team needed to ship new functionality fast without disrupting the experience for hundreds of thousands of active subscribers.
Approach
I delivered the Pret Coffee Subscription gifting feature using React and Next.js, enabling customers to purchase and send subscriptions as gifts. I also built new account management features for the Pret Perks loyalty programme, simplifying the self-service flow for subscribers. The work focused on maintaining reliability at scale while shipping quickly, with careful attention to the user experience across the purchase and management flows.
